Hi, I’m Kate
Product designer, problem solver and part-time shibori enthusiast.
I’m a Product Designer who loves digging into real problems, jamming on solutions with data and user insights, and testing ideas directly with customers. Curious by nature, my experience in Product, Growth and large organisations allows me to think strategically at a business level and tackle complex issues with an iterative approach.
The projects that really get me excited are those that involve experimentation and collaboration, building products that create real community impact. Currently at the University of Newcastle, Australia, I design seamless digital experiences that help students take the next step in their learning journey.
Design values
User first, always. I believe in getting to know your users and walking in their shoes as soon as possible. Start small with testing ideas to get early feedback. Learn by doing.
Clean design over fancy layouts, any day. I love solving problems for people through a clear and simple approach - good design means your users should hardly know you’re there.
Always learning. I can’t get enough of understanding more about UX principles, most recently diving into the world of product-led growth and onboarding. Yes, I have a folder dedicated to seamless onboarding flows for inspo!
Collaboration and community. The sum of the team is always greater than its individuals, and I love being part of Memorisely as a UX Ambassador for this reason - we are a remote group of designers from around the world.
